On June 18 INT.E.G.RA. presented the validation study "Ocular Irritection Assay for eye hazard identification" to the Cosmetic Chemistry Companies of Italy, the United States, Canada and Japan during the 1st Intercontinental Personal Care Excellence Conference. The scientific poster promotes the use of in vitro methodologies to determine the eye irritation of cosmetic products rather than in-vivo tests such as the "Draize" method.
During the SICC (Italian Society of Chemists and Cosmetic Science) workshop "The fascinating World of Cosmetic Emulsions", INT.E.G.RA., the official sponsor of the event, illustrated its novelties at the audience of cosmetologists and students.
The focal point of the presentation was the new trade agreement with Adacta S.p.A., which has been working in consumer & sensory research for over 25 years. Specializing in product testing, they offer both "ad hoc" consumer research methods and the use of sensory techniques conducted with experienced judges.
There are numerous national and international companies that entrust Adacta with continuous testing of the performance of their products.
INT.E.G.RA. is the exclusive supplier of the BEAUTY & WELLNESS COMMUNITY service, a consumer panel specifically selected from dozens of thousands of volunteers across Italy, available to carry out product testing aimed at deepening knowledge of end user preferences and gathering information about competition.
Our Regulatory Service recently received some clarification requests about managing allergies in Dossier Manager.
Fragrant provider cards often include, in addition to the 26 allergens indicated in the text of the European Regulation, other technical substances, or derivatives thereof.
In Dossier Manager, INCIs preloaded with the allergen feature correspond to the 26 substances to be declared on label if their concentration exceeds the limits specified in the text of the European Regulation. Technical substances, possibly present in the composition of the perfume, which appear to be allergic but do not fall into the official list, do not present the allergen function automatically.
The user, if necessary, may attribute the above-described technical substances to the allergen function in the INCI dictionary section or in the technical specification of the raw material. However, this type of choice entails the risk of underestimating the amount of an allergen, in the calculation that allows it to "filter", and not to expose on the label allergens.
For example: If the PERFUME supplier's tab there is listed:
- LIMONENE x%
- D-Lemonene y%
It may be that the two percentages may be lower than the filter threshold individually and then be removed from the display on the label. In this case, our suggestion is instead to indicate the INCI composition of the scent in question, the sum of allergen percentages and its derivatives in the same allergen voice, and hence:
- LIMONENE x + y%
LIST OF 26 ALLERGIES
Amyl cinnamal Amylcinnamyl alcohol
Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde
On December 14, 2016, during the SICC Congress, the Cosmerit Awards 2016 were awarded.
It is our pleasure to inform you that INT.E.G.RA. participated with the "Integrated Communication" project, receiving the special mention for the B2B Services category for "Legal Compliance" and "Clear Communication".
The "CosMerit Awards" is an annual award for virtuous cosmetics companies established by SiCC (Italian Society of Chemistry and Cosmetic Sciences) starting in 2013. Recognition aims to contribute to the goal of promoting cosmetic science through the continuous improvement of correct and transparent communication. The aim is to enhance and improve the effectiveness of communication, both B2B and B2C, by companies, while respecting the guiding values of correct and transparent information and promotional communication of products and services.
INT.E.G.RA.'s project primarily involves communicating our goals and ethical content and sustainability of our offer, and is aimed at facilitating the exchange of information with customers and potential customers, and to create a "virtuous circle" in which the needs and solutions are put in full relation to each other.
The tool we chose to use is based on 20 kpi "key performance indicator", and it is called kMap: this approach was critical to obtaining objective evaluations.
The envisaged areas of the Call ("legal compliance", "clear communication", "support to sustainability") were similar to our goals. We decided to take the opportunity to test ourselves with the humility needed to pick up any criticisms and suggestions.
From the jury's analysis of our project came suggestions that helped to improve the project. The project staff, of which Maria Ferrero is the coordinator, deserved this recognition that we received with great satisfaction. Our people have a great deal of expertise but above all are rich in enthusiasm and self-criticism, which make it possible for the daily challenge to be continually improved.
CLOUD (SaaS:Software as a service):
Starting with version 6.5, Dossier Manager is also available in CLOUD!
Dossier Manager®, Software for the Management of Technical-Regulatory Documentation as required by the Cosmetic Industry by REGULATION (EC) No. 1223/2009, is now also available in cloud.
This floating license offers all the management advantages associated with it: for example, you can add multiple add-on licenses that can be used with the same policy, so you can use shared or single utilities. You can also easily enable access even for certain periods, such as, for example, an external consultant, with profiles and pre-defined write and display rights, so that you can supervise your PIF (Product Information File ).
This service absolves the user from all the issues of installation and technology management. It is advantageous for many uses, ranging from the classical (business) to the one of consulting, college, and personal study. Cloud technology allows easy access from any device. Performance is usually higher than that of a normal corporate structure with access from outside.
All management activities are the responsibility of Dossier Manager. In addition to software licenses, you need to access the SaaS (Software as a Service) service, which has a calculated cost per number of accesses.
